Special orders do not have to start and end with just the doll. You can add many things to make the doll as personal as you wish. For example, an instrument or suitcase or something else that you would like the doll to hold. We'll even make a bench or table and chairs for the dolls. Here are a few ideas others have come up with.
Marching band dolls are very popular for customizing and we do many of these. For example, this picture shows a particular marching band that we have done many times. This band is represented by dolls in the two pictures on the right. |
In the picture on the right, the doll's head is flat but in the other picture, both of the doll's heads are totally dimensional. When you order, you can have whatever you wish, depending on the price range you in which you want to stay . | ![]() ![]() |

Here are some other marching band doll orders that we have made. The drummer and the flag girls are standing figures and the others are sitting dolls. You can specify which you prefer, but some dolls are more suited to standing than others. Most of these customers sent us a photo of the doll so that we could be precise in making the figure and in painting the details. The group picture is the senior section of a high school band. It's a nice change from another plaque or trophy, and an excellent way to commemorate an activity. |

This is a Baton Twirler
We had a photo and a description from the customer and they also requested a sign to go with the doll with her name and the years that she was part of the team. They also told us to give her long wavy blond hair with brown streaks and hazel eyes. You can specify all the details when you custom order a doll. |

These are 2 examples of a drummer and drum set.The first was made for a man whose friend had a band and he wanted something to remember him by. The name of the band is Smokey's Bandits and is written on the bass drum. The second is a woman who played in a rock band. We have made other drum sets in different colors and the dolls have been male or female and in tuxedos and dresses. In any drum set the customer determines how many drums and cymbals. |

We know this is a piano player, but this customer made it obvious that soccer is an important part of his life. |
| In this doll the man's sister wanted to highlight
the many sports in which he was involved. Rather than just a referee or
golfer doll, etc., she incorporated many things into one doll. Even the
hat has the logo of a six pack of beer, his favorite brand.

Again, a doll with many add ons. He's obviously a business man with the suit and laptop, but the golf bag and club show another side of his personality. |
| This gardener has her 2 favorite helpers names on her sweater. She has a seed packet in her hand and pots and a trowel in her basket. | ![]() |
| Two professional people.
The lady's shoulder bag has folders sticking out of it that have headings specific to her work, but the rolling pin and bowling bag tell something more about this woman; just as the trumpet and golf club tell that the guy is more than just a business man. |

| Here is a family group. A Pennsylvania woman
was having some family members for a holiday dinner. She had a doll made
for each person and represented each person with several aspects of their
lives. The dolls were placed around the table and when dinner was served,
each person was to find their place by locating their doll.

Another family group. But this one
and others like it are used by NYU, U. of Pa., and the U. of Pitt. psychology
department to help them communicate with troubled children. They use the
dolls in role playing activities.

| Some sport uniforms are straight forward while others are almost impossible to describe. In cases such as this one, a photo was sent and you can see the result. Because the back of the uniform is not shown we had to contact the customer to get the design and ask if she wanted a name and number on the back. She did. | ![]() |

Not all ideas have to be complicated.

| A mother from Washington State has been buying one doll a year for the last twelve years. Each doll was a gift for her daughter and commemorates something special that occured in her daughter's life that year. This group of pictures shows three of these dolls. The first is the girl in her costume when she was in the school play "Oklahoma". The second was a press doll for the year that she worked on the school paper. The third is another school play outfit. Some other dolls she had made for her were a ballerina, and a violin player. We have never met this girl but we feel like we know her. | ||

While this photo is self explanatory, we'd like
you to note that the pieces on the game board are real and not painted
on so the same person doesn't always have to win.

| Two sisters, 89 and 93 years old, still playing cards with each other after all these years. Some friends ordered a pair of dolls of these sisters as a gift for them. | ![]() |

A New Jersey woman needed a shower gift for a couple that was very special to her. Not only did she order dolls of these people, she also created a setting for them. Along with the bench, she added many items of significance in their lives. She even specified the name to be put on the wine bottle and on the bag at the dolls feet. Every item was described in detail and we did our best to recreate the scene she wanted. She also asked that both dolls be holding a cook book with a recipe for a happy marriage and provided the ingredients to be painted in the book. |
| This is a gentleman who collects stamps. He was famous for wearing his white panama hat and the family also specified what his outfit should be. He is holding a stamp album in one hand . | ![]() |

Another Stamp collector!
This man is holding a magnifying glass in one hand and a tweaser with a stamp in it in the other. You can't see from the photo but his shirt is peppered with stamps that we painted on. Some are real copies and some are made up. |
| Here's an example of
a Cub Scout.
The customer gave us a photo with all the boy's medals and badges showing and we painted them all on his uniform. |

A shop in Philadelphia that carries our dolls ordered this "Father Guido" doll for one of his customers. He gave us the picture and asked us to copy it, but to make the doll in a priest's shirt and collar. The doll is holding a wine bottle in his hand. |
| This doll was for an ice skater.
The tutu seemed so much a part of the figure that I wanted to make it stand out more than a wooden tutu would. Working from a picture they provided, we painted the doll in a black leotard and I added a red lace ribbon for the tutu. We were really pleased with this doll and plan to carry some with a cloth tutu to shows with us this year. |
